This role can be challenging but is an extremely rewarding one, helping families to navigate, what at times can be, the complex world of SEND support.
About The Role
You will be part of a team delivering information, advice and support to families and helping to develop the service offer.
Sendias Bathnes offers confidential and impartial information, advice and support to children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), as well as their parents and carers. It also helps those facing suspension or exclusion, or their parents and carers. It provides information to professionals.
About You
You will have good verbal and written communication and active listening skills.
You will work independently and collaboratively with team members to offer children, young people, parents, and carers information and advice to assist them in fully participating in decisions about their own or their children's education, training, or employment.
Support is provided from the earliest stages, through to assistance at Tribunal hearings and independent reviews of permanent exclusions.
You will develop resources and training materials, promote the service at events, to schools and others, and work with SENDIAS Bathnes volunteers and partner organisations.
To succeed in this role, you need experience in offering information, advice, and support or knowledge of SEND. You must have completed IPSEA legal training levels 1-3 or do so within your first year of employment.
