Aerospace, Defence & Advanced Manufacturing

Help shape the commercial success of complex engineering programmes within one of Britain's most respected aerospace and defence manufacturers.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Cost & Pricing Business Partner to join a world‑leading aerospace engineering organisation whose products are trusted by air forces across the globe.

This is a highly visible role sitting at the intersection of Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Commercial Finance.

You will play a key role in helping the business understand how products are built, manufactured, sourced and costed, enabling more accurate pricing, stronger commercial decisions and improved operational performance.

Importantly, this is not a traditional finance role.

We are looking for candidates who understand manufacturing, engineering and operational cost drivers and can translate that understanding into robust costing, pricing and commercial decision support.

* Analyse material, labour, overhead and operational cost drivers
* Support pricing activities through robust cost justification and analysis
* Challenge costing assumptions and identify commercial risks and opportunities
* Improve the quality, consistency and accuracy of costing and pricing information

Manufacturing & Engineering Analysis

* Review Bills of Materials (BoMs), manufacturing routings and production processes
* Understand how products are manufactured, assembled and tested
* Analyse labour standards, production activities and operational cost drivers
* Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to validate manufacturing assumptions

Commercial & Supply Chain Support

* Support bid, proposal and commercial activity with detailed cost analysis
* Carry out supplier cost analysis and benchmarking activities
* Collaborate with Procurement and Sourcing teams to improve cost visibility
* Support negotiations through evidence‑based cost modelling and analysis
* Drive improvements across costing, pricing and estimating processes
* Support SAP S4/HANA and ERP‑based process optimisation initiatives
* Improve reporting, data quality and costing governance across the business

We Are Interested In Candidates From Backgrounds Such As:

* Aerospace Manufacturing
* Defence Engineering
* Automotive Manufacturing
* Industrial Manufacturing
* Precision Engineering
* Production Engineering
* Manufacturing Engineering
* Supply Chain & Procurement
* Product Costing
* Should‑Cost Analysis
* Commercial Manufacturing Analysis

Experience We Would Like To See

You do not need every item below, but experience in several areas would be advantageous:

* Manufacturing Costing
* Product Costing
* Bills of Materials (BoMs)
* Manufacturing Routings
* Labour Standards
* Production Processes
* Manufacturing Operations
* ERP Systems (SAP advantageous)
* Advanced Excel

What Makes Someone Successful In This Role?

You are likely to thrive if you:

* Enjoy understanding how products are physically manufactured
* Are naturally curious and analytical
* Like solving complex operational problems
* Can challenge assumptions constructively
* Enjoy working across engineering, operations and commercial teams
* Want your work to directly influence major business decisions

Why Join?

* Globally respected aerospace engineering organisation
* Highly visible role with significant business impact
* Exposure to complex engineering programmes
* Collaborative and technically focused culture
* Opportunity to influence major commercial and operational decisions
* Meaningful work supporting products that save lives
