Behaviour Support Assistant

Pupil referral unit for students with a range of behavioural and social, emotional, and mental health needs
Job Duties:
* Provide behaviour management support to students in a pupil referral unit setting
* Implement strategies to safeguard children and promote a safe learning environment
* Offer mentoring and guidance to students to help improve their behaviour and emotional well-being
* Act as a positive role model for students and encourage positive behaviour
* Assist teaching staff as a Learning Support Assistant in delivering tailored support to students
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in behaviour management and working with children or young people
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
* Relevant personal experience with children or young adults (especailly from disadvantaged backgrounds or with SEMH needs)
Knowledge and Skills:
* Understanding of behaviour management techniques
* Ability to build positive relationships with students
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Useful Qualifications:
* Relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work
* Training in de-escalation techniques
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a pupil referral unit with students who have behavioural and social, emotional, and mental health needs. The work may be challenging at times, but rewarding in supporting students to progress and succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
