Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care (Rotherham) – Night Shifts only. £15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Tracheostomy Healthcare Assistant to join our team in a care home setting. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to residents and support them with daily activities, ensuring comfort and well-being. A valid driving licence is preferred, as some roles may involve transporting residents. This is a meaningful 1:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.
About The Client
Our client is a young girl with a non-traumatic spinal cord injury who lives at home with her family. A carer who is calm, patient and confident working independently with children will thrive in this role. A driver is preferred.
Clinical Requirements
You will support the client with the specific clinical tasks outlined in their care plan. These may include:
* Tracheostomy Care
* Percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ) feeds
* Spinal Injury care
* Catheter Care
* Bowel Care
* Full assistance with urinary and bowel management
* Paediatric experience favoured
Shifts Available
We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.
* Day 08:30 - 18:30
* Night 22:00 - 08:00
What The Role Involves
* Delivering compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
* Supporting with community access and social activities
* Promoting independence and dignity in all tasks
* Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
* Communicating effectively with the clinical, care, and coordination teams
Role candidates should be capable of helping the client feel safe, supported and in control of their daily routine.

* Experience supporting people with complex needs
* Confidence with clinical tasks (or a willingness to train)
* Strong communication and reliability
* Empathy, emotional intelligence and person-centred values
* Ability to work independently and professionally
* Support residents in following their care plans and achieving their individual goals
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents’ conditions to senior staff
* Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, ensuring dietary needs are met
* Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events
* Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment by following health and safety protocols
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication effectively
