Overview

As a Safeguarding Coordinator you will liaise with a wide range of Health staff and other multi‑partner agencies such as the local authority, local health agencies, GP services, police, CCGs, safeguarding boards and NHS England services. The post holder will take pride in doing what is required, showing focus and determination when faced with routine setbacks. You will work Monday and Friday 9-5 at our Preston Hub with the flexibility of home working. We change lives by transforming health and care.

Responsibilities

* To support the identified Lead/s in the day-to-day running of the department ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and policies, section 11 audit requirements, and the tracking of Children In Care RHAs.
* Undertaking general office duties including filing, photocopying, collating and distributing information, handling mail, preparing resources for training sessions, archiving documents per organisational policy, managing the identified email inboxes, maintaining stationary supplies, preparing reports and maintaining data spreadsheets.
* To act as an initial point of contact within the Children In Care and Safeguarding team dealing with telephone calls, emails and messages, some of which may be complex or contain sensitive information.
* To be involved in planning and organising meetings, workshops, training and events.


Qualifications and Skills

* A good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, must include English language.
* Excellent numeracy and literacy.
* Competent IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
* Ability to liaise with a wide range of health staff and partner agencies/organisations.
* Helpful and confident telephone manner.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own workload.
* Flexible, mature approach and good listening skills.
* Excellent timekeeping and time management; ability to cope with deadlines and work under pressure.
* Computer skills including Word processing, Excel/database development, PowerPoint, and Office Outlook.
* Experience of developing and maintaining record-keeping systems and handling confidential and sensitive information.


Experience

* Experience of developing and maintaining record-keeping systems and processes.
* Experience of working unsupervised and prioritising own workload; working on multiple tasks simultaneously; coping with deadlines and working under pressure.
* Experience of utilising Microsoft packages and liaising with a wide range of health staff and partner agencies/organisations.
