About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Ground Operations & Cargo Agent to join our EMA airport team. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day cargo and ground operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency while delivering excellent service to airlines and customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle inbound/outbound cargo, including customs clearance for special shipments and airport security checks.
* Manage daily airport/warehouse logistics, ensuring timely delivery and smooth operations.
* Optimize cargo flow and coordinate with ground services for efficient storage and loading.
* Monitor flight operations and support turnaround activities (cargo loading/unloading, ramp services).
* Resolve cargo emergencies (delays, anomalies, damage) and maintain shipment traceability.
* Liaise with airports, carriers, customs, and transport providers.
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of cargo procedures, customs processes, and aviation safety regulations.
* Problem-solving mindset with ability to perform under pressure.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Proficiency with IT systems (MS Office, DCS, GHA software).
* Valid UK Driving Licence & eligibility for Airside Security Pass.
* Desirable: IATA certification, weight & balance experience, forklift licence.
Working Conditions
* Shift work (early mornings, nights, weekends, public holidays).
* Work primarily outdoors/warehouse, exposed to weather and aircraft noise.
* Physically active role with standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
