Band 7 CAMHS Specialist Nurse Practitioner – Fixed term 12 months
This post within City and Hackney CAMHS will be providing services to young people and their families 5 days a week over a 12-month period to cover maternity leave. This is a community based post, located within the Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT) offering therapeutic work to families with specific emphasis on adolescents with complex and severe mental health problems.
The post holder will offer flexible, evidence-based care including a range of assessments and treatments such as individual, parenting, family work and group based intervention, as well as specialist advice/consultation and liaison with other agencies. The post holder will work with a multi-disciplinary team and have a high degree of professional autonomy, accounting for professional practice through appraisal and audit.
Location: City & Hackney CAMHS, 15 Homerton Row, London, E9 6ED.

Main duties and responsibilities
* Provide specialist clinical care for children and young people with a wide range of CAMHS presentations, including those at risk of inpatient admission.
* Engage with young people and families using flexible, evidence-based approaches across a range of modalities (individual, family, parenting and group work).
* Offer specialist advice, consultation, and liaison with other agencies and multi-agency networks, including inpatient adolescent units.
* Work creatively with severe mental illnesses and complex presentations; contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team.
* Demonstrate appropriate risk management and, where relevant, experience of working in schools, children’s social care and adolescent inpatient settings.
* Participate in appraisal and audit to account for professional practice.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
* Qualification in Nursing and registration with the relevant UK governing body.
* Experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health problems, including CAMHS settings.
* Experience of care planning.
Knowledge and skills
* Evidence of well-developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS; specialist clinical skills within specific therapeutic modalities.
* Knowledge of and ability to apply a wide variety of CAMHS theories and interventions appropriate to client need and setting.

* Disclosure and Barring Service Check as part of safeguarding responsibilities.
* Current UK professional registration is required.
