Overview:
This role is part of the P3MO (Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Office). It involves secondment into projects to ensure technical delivery aligns with time, cost, and quality targets alongside the core project team (project manager and technical lead). The role is crucial for managing the project through its technical lifecycle, from concept to design, bills of materials management, procurement, and assembly.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Project Manager and Technical Lead/Chief Engineer to provide engineering delivery leadership.
* Ensure scheduled completion of activities and deliverables by suppliers and internal teams.
* Maintain project technical documentation and participate in continuous improvement activities, applying systems thinking where needed.
* Translate requirements into deliverables and objectives, tracking their progress.
* Establish and maintain project documentation according to management processes (requirements, plans, finances, FMEAs, design approvals, risk register, change management).
* Identify risks, liaise with stakeholders for mitigation, and manage changes in scope, cost, or schedule.
* Capture and share lessons learned.
* Promote safe working practices, ensuring design safety considerations are integrated from conception to operation.
* Apply engineering standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
* Experience in delivering complex technology, product, or infrastructure programs.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Redmine, or similar tools.
* Knowledge of engineering design and software development processes.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Proactive, energetic, with problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Organizational skills with experience in resource and budget management.
* Adaptability and resilience to handle ambiguity.
