OverviewWe are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation operating within a fast-paced,mercially driven environment. The business supplies into a range of UK and international markets and continues to invest in bothmercial capability and operational efficiency.An opportunity has arisen for an Estimator /mercial Analyst to join themercial function, supporting pricing strategy, profitability analysis, and bid/tender activity. This role is critical in ensuring the business maintainspetitive pricing whilst protecting margins and driving sustainable growth.
Purpose of the RoleTo support themercial Manager in delivering accurate, timely pricing andmercial analysis, enabling the business to secure new opportunities at appropriate margin and maintain strongmercial control across existing accounts.The role sits at the intersection of data analysis, pricing strategy, andmercial decision-making, with direct exposure to sales, operations, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage daily pricing enquiries received from internal and external sales teams
2. Produce accurate andpetitive customer quotations aligned to margin targets
3. Support the preparation of estimates for major tenders and contract opportunities
4. Maintain and update pricing data, ensuring accuracy across all systems and price files
5. Analyse business performance data to identify:Low-margin productsUnderperforming customersOpportunities for margin improvement
6. Develop and deliver regularmercial performance reporting
7. Support account reviews through data-ledmercial insight
8. Provideernance over invoice pricing, ensuringpliance and accuracy
9. Contribute to ongoing improvement of pricing tools, processes, and systems
Candidate ProfileCore Requirements
10. Previous experience in amercial, pricing, costing, or analytical role
11. Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret and manipulate data
12. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
13. Understanding of margin, profitability, and pricing principles
14. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable Experience
15. Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or engineering environments
16. Exposure to:Pricing modelsCosting frameworks
17. Familiarity with systems such as:Power BIAccessERP or pricing systems
