What's involved with this role: Job Title: Building Surveyor Reference: Warwick 5280853 Salary: £22.22 per hour PAYE with accrued holiday and pension contribution Hours: 22.5 hours per week Monday-Thursday Role length: 2 months opening assignment Job type: On-site Location: Warwick Contract Type: Temporary The role: You will undertake a full range of Building Surveying and Project Management duties to maintain and improve the Council’s housing stock and property portfolio. This includes stock condition surveys, planned maintenance, and refurbishment projects — ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage planned and cyclical maintenance, refurbishment and improvement works to Council properties. Carry out stock condition, HHSRS, EPC and defect surveys, preparing specifications, drawings and tender documentation. Administer and manage contracts, valuations, and contractor performance to maintain cost and quality control. Provide professional advice and support to clients, tenants, and stakeholders throughout project delivery Ensure all works comply with CDM Regulations and other relevant legislation. Analyse survey data to inform future investment and maintenance programmes. What the client is looking for: HNC/HND/Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent, or 3 years’ relevant experience within local authority or housing sector. Proven experience of managing building or maintenance projects from inception to completion. Sound technical knowledge of building pathology, legislation, and health and safety standards. Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Desirable: Membership of RICS, CIOB, or MCABE. Experience using AutoCAD and housing stock databases. Qualified or willing to train as HHSRS or EPC assessor. Familiarity with social housing standards and Decent Homes criteria.
