Quantity Surveyor - Summary of Role
You will manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects throughout the Northwest, working both in office and on-site to ensure accurate cost management, resource allocation, and adherence to budgets and timelines. Collaboration with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders is essential to monitor progress and ensure financial efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Measurement: Schedule work packages based on drawings and surveys; use Amspec Evaluate software for organization and costing.
* Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs; identify and manage cost variations.
* Valuation and Payment: Conduct valuations; prepare and review payment applications and invoices.
* Contract Administration: Manage contractual documents; handle disputes and claims.
* Procurement: Source and negotiate with suppliers; manage procurement schedules.
* Cost Reporting: Provide forecasts; report on overruns and risks.
* Site Inspections: Monitor site progress; verify work quality and quantity.
* Risk Management: Identify risks; develop mitigation strategies; maintain risk register.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work with project teams and stakeholders; provide financial advice.
* Documentation: Keep accurate records; prepare final accounts and close-out reports.
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying
* Minimum 4 years' experience in construction
* Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost management
* Proficient in relevant software (Amspec Evaluate & Procore)
* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
* Knowledge of building codes and standards
