Are you looking for a rewarding role in a fast-paced catering environment? We are seeking a Catering General Assistant to support our kitchen and catering operations at BAM Finstown, Orkney. This role is perfect for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a team, maintaining high standards, and delivering excellent service.
What You'll Do:
Assist theHead Chef and catering team with food preparation and service
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe kitchen and dining environment
Support thebreakfast, lunch, and dinner service, ensuring smooth operations
Manage thepot wash area and ensure all equipment is cleaned properly
Monitor and controlstock levels, unloading and storing deliveries correctly
Ensure allHealth & Safety and Food Safety regulations are followed
FollowCOSHH procedures for safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
Report anymaintenance or safety issues to the Head Chef
Workflexibly, supporting the team during busy service periods
Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience
What We're Looking For:
A team player with a proactive and positive attitude
Strongcommunication skills to engage with customers and colleagues
Knowledge ofcleaning materials and COSHH regulations (training provided)
Passion for food service and maintaining high standards
Ability to take initiative, follow instructions, and work efficiently
Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role (desirable but not essential)
