What will you be doing?
1. Manage all procurement activities across a designated product category
2. Develop and execute category plans (short, medium, and long-term)
3. Evaluate commercial offers, customer tenders, and supplier proposals
4. Continuously identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
5. Lead product selection, benchmarking, and tendering processes
6. Analyse product performance, market trends, and customer demand
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers
8. Negotiate pricing and trading agreements
9. Ensure supplier performance meets KPIs
10. Collaborate on joint business plans and category growth initiatives
11. Support sustainability objectives in product sourcing and supplier selection
12. Work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Senior Management
13. Support the sales team in customer acquisition and tender processes
14. Present category strategies to internal stakeholders
15. Attend trade events and proactively assess market trends to inform strategy
What will you ideally bring to the role?
16. Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
17. Experience within FMCG, Catering Supplies, Manufacturing or similar industries
18. Ability to analyse data, forecast demand, and manage stock levels
19. Proficient in developing category plans and managing supplier performance
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
21. Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable with a focus on delivering results
22. Comfortable working cross-functionally across departments and stakeholders
