We are looking for an experienced and adaptable individual who is experienced in running the Trials Portfolio Management Office and deliver the highly complex major portfolio of engineering & hydrodynamics trials, to time, cost, and quality, compliant with AWE processes. This is unique opportunity to join us as a Head of PMO as we embark on a 'once in a generation' programme of work.
In this role you will:
Work efficiently and effectively to PMO specialisms, e.g. planning, risk, cost management, configuration, change, reporting and resourcing.
Work collaboratively with the Enterprise PMO (ePMO) and wider P3M Function to ensure portfolio alignment to strategic objectives.
Enable the successful delivery of the portfolio, programme, or project, ensuring projects align with strategic goals, stay within budget and timeline, and deliver expected benefits.
Maintain efficient functioning and continuous improvement of the PMO itself, through the deployment and application of processes, tools, and methodologies in accordance with the P3M Framework.
Uphold defined project management standards and best practices across the organisation. Driving consistency, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
Effectively allocate and utilise resources across the portfolio, programme or project to maximise efficiencies, to impact and increase delivery.
Ensure stakeholders are kept informed, engaged, and satisfied with project progress and outcomes.
Provide people leadership across the multi disciplined team to coach, develop, engage and motivate individuals to create high performing teams that are held to account and that are influential both internally and externally to the company.

Ability to effectively prioritise workload, resources, and deadlines within high pressure complex environments.
Experience in facilitating effective allocation of resources within portfolio, programme, or project, including personnel, budget, and materials, to maximise efficiency and project success.
A proven record to drive project deliverables forward through a complex environment and leadership of a high performing and successful integrated project organisation.
Robust stakeholder management skills, able to work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and concerns, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
Ability to oversee risk management activities across projects, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and managed consistently at the organisational level.
Comfortable in developing and maintaining reporting mechanisms to track KPIs and project metrics, offering insights for decision-making at various organisational levels.
Ability to solve problems, with proven delivery of results through creative solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and practises, and tracking evaluating the actual benefits derived from completed projects, ensuring that the intended outcomes are achieved.
Demonstrable experience in establishing project governance structures and ensure compliance with organisational policies and standards, promoting accountability and transparency.
