Wellington College is seeking to appoint a Postgraduate Teacher of Design, Engineering and Technology to join a dynamic and collaborative department within our Science, Technology and Engineering faculty. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, the college sits on a 400‑acre estate with easy train and bus links. The role is a fixed‑term contract for a graduate teacher at an early stage of their career, offering opportunities to develop strong classroom practice and contribute to an academically ambitious subject area.
The Role
As a Postgraduate Teacher of Design, Engineering and Technology, you will teach pupils aged 13‑18 across iGCSE and Sixth Form pathways, contributing to courses at iGCSE, A Level and, where required, IB in line with departmental needs. You will plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that encourage independent thinking, analytical skills and intellectual curiosity, while ensuring pupils feel known, supported and appropriately stretched.
You will work closely with colleagues across the faculty, contributing to shared planning, assessment and curriculum development. Assessment and feedback will be used thoughtfully to support pupil progress, inform teaching and guide intervention where required.
In addition to classroom teaching, you will play an active role in tutoring and pastoral care, supporting pupils’ academic and personal development within the seven‑day boarding environment.
Accommodation on site may be provided, subject to availability.
Beyond the Classroom
Wellington places great value on education beyond the timetable. You will be expected to contribute to the co‑curricular life of the College through clubs, workshops, enrichment activities or trips, and to engage positively in House life. Saturday commitments and weekend activities form part of the rhythm of the school and provide rewarding opportunities to build strong relationships with pupils.
The Person
We are looking for a graduate with strong subject knowledge, a genuine enthusiasm for Design, Engineering and Technology, and a commitment to inclusive, high‑quality teaching. You will be reflective, organised and keen to develop your practice, with the confidence to engage fully in the academic, pastoral and co‑curricular life of a busy boarding school.
Safeguarding & Wellbeing

Applicants must undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You must have the right to work in the UK.
