The Guild Lounge is Preston’s newest entertainment venue, a 350 seater and 500 standing capacity venue in the heart of the city centre. The Guild Lounge programme boasts a range of commercial touring shows including comedy, live music and theatre, local performance groups, and family content. All whilst delivering a quality visit to the theatre, with a full bar overlooking the historic Harris and Crown Courts.
Preston City Council’s Cultural Service now has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic General Manager with excellent leadership skills to join the Senior Management Team at the Guild Lounge.
As General Manager you will lead a small but committed team to develop and deliver an innovative organisational approach to a dynamic new entertainment venue in Preston. You will be responsible for developing and managing high quality customer services provision at the Guild Lounge. You will bring to the role insights and expertise of venue operations, artist liaison, innovation in customer services and commercial development within a cultural setting.
This is a critical role for the Guild Lounge to ensure that our ambitions to set up and grow the venue are realised. You will work closely with the Assistant Director, Head of Arts and Culture at Preston City Council to lead this transformation.
Preston has a dynamic and growing independent cultural sector including artist led studios, youth led arts organisations, place making experts and innovative community practice. Preston is fast becoming a focal point for the arts, culture and leisure. A bold and transformational approach is emerging, focussed upon culture and regeneration, and concentrated in the Harris Quarter area of the city centre, our city’s cultural and civic heart. This will place culture firmly as a key catalyst for change in Preston, with the Guild Lounge at the heart of new Harris Quarter.
