Description The Details This exciting and challenging role focuses on the development, continuous improvement and implementation of high throughput sequencing and preparation applications within the development department. The successful candidate will work in the Sequencing Development team and collaborate with stakeholders across R&D to develop and optimise new methods, as well as Product Management and Customer Services and Support to implement and deliver these methods to customer sites. The high throughput sequencing team are responsible for the development and implementation at scale, of key methods such as sequencing, automating and streamlining high throughput DNA isolation, read length selection and in-house Oxford Nanopore library preparation techniques. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. What We're Looking For A PhD in life sciences (or BSc/MSc in life sciences with several years of relevant industry experience). Experience in line management and leading a highly skilled inter disciplinary team Strong attention to detail and a high level of organisation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting. Experience with data analysis/bioinformatic tools and environments ( e.g. Python/R/Linux command line). Hands-on experience with electrophysiology, biological sensing techniques or sequencing technologies and experiments. Experience with automated liquid handling A proven track record in delivering scientific or technical projects Strong interpersonal and communication skills. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across Research, Development, Production and Informatics teams.
