Teaching Assistant – Andover
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a motivated and supportive Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Andover area. This long‑term role involves helping pupils in the classroom, supporting lessons, and giving additional guidance to children who need help staying engaged and confident in their learning.
You’ll be working closely with teaching staff to support small groups, assist 1:1 when required, and help maintain a positive, structured classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want valuable experience within an educational setting.
It’s a great fit for people with backgrounds in childcare, youth support, SEN, care roles, tutoring, or graduates exploring careers in teaching, psychology, education, or similar fields.
The Role:
1. Provide general classroom support across a range of subjects
2. Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups as needed
3. Help students stay focused, confident and ready to learn
4. Assist teachers with learning tasks, activities, and resources
5. Encourage positive behaviour and independence
6. Help with daily routines and movement between lessons
7. Contribute to a calm, inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
Ideal Candidate:
8. Experience working with children (school, tutoring, youth work, childcare, coaching, etc.)
9. Patient, positive and enthusiastic about helping pupils succeed
10. Good communication and teamwork skills
11. Adaptable, proactive and able to support a range of ages
12. Reliable, friendly and confident building rapport with pupils
13. Psychology, education or child‑related graduates encouraged
Contract Details:
14. Position: Teaching Assistant

16. Start Date: ASAP
17. Hours: Full‑time, term‑time
18. Pay: ££ per hour
19. Contract: Flexible
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
20. Experience working with children desirable
21. Understanding of classroom expectations helpful
22. Safeguarding training available
Eligibility:
23. Right to work in the UK
24. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
25. Two relevant references
