🌟 The Opportunity
A well-established accountancy firm is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join its friendly payroll team. Ideal for someone with client/bureau experience and Sage 50 proficiency. This role suits someone detail-driven, organised, and keen to develop in a supportive environment
⚡ Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and update payroll data for multiple clients.
* Assist with weekly and monthly payroll processing.
* Prepare and upload pension files.
* Issue payslips, P45s and employee documents.
* Submit RTI filings to HMRC.
* Produce payroll journals and summary reports.
* Handle client, employee and HMRC queries.
* Support compliance and general admin tasks.
🧠 Ideal Candidate
* 1+ year payroll experience within a bureau environment.
* Confident using Sage 50 Payroll.
* Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Clear communicator with a professional approach.
* Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
* Trainee candidates considered at an entry-level salary.
