Specialist Psychological Therapist: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forwardthinking Community CAMHS team as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. The Winchester Test Valley CAMHS team have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 CBT therapist, working 30 hours a week, to join our Community CAMHS team across our two offices in Andover and Winchester.

You will deliver highquality, evidencebased CBT interventions to children and young people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, OCD and traumarelated presentations. Working collaboratively with families, schools and partner agencies, you will play a key role in helping young people build resilience and move towards recovery.

The role requires strong CBT skills, sound clinical judgement and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents. You will manage a defined caseload, contribute to assessments and formulations, and engage actively in multidisciplinary discussions. BABCP accreditation (or working towards) is essential, as is a commitment to reflective practice, safeguarding and outcomefocused care.

Main duties of the job

* To carryout specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the service, based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological data from a variety of sources
* To provide clinical placements for trainee psychological therapists, and trainee Psychological Practitioners ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills, competencies and experience to contribute effectively to good mental health care and to contribute to the assessment and evaluation of such.
* To contribute psychological knowledge and expertise to policy and service development through participation, where practical, in regional multidisciplinary meetings and special interest groups, working parties etc that may impact on the functioning of the service.
* To be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the bounds of the service operational policy.
* To support the team with aspects of generic CAMHS work including contacting parents of young persons to respond to clinically relevant cases and to update care plans and risk accordingly.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* A recognised post graduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (or equivalent).
* Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).
* A recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professions recognised by BABCP, e.g. psychiatric nursing, practitioner psychology, medicine, social work, occupational therapy or counselling AND current registration with the core professional body, OR evidence of having achieved the Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route to BABCP accreditation.
* Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
