To bring value to the business by accepting and inspecting all incoming assignments of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste by following the relevant regulations and site procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure incoming waste consignments have correct and complete paperwork (e.g. Consignment Notes, Duty of Care).
* Verify, retain, and scan paperwork within 48 hours of arrival.
* Conduct safety checks and sampling of waste for lab analysis.
* Inspect and accept waste in line with BAT and Sector Guidance Note 5.06.
* Record waste acceptance and non-conformances in SAP.
* Ensure waste is correctly labelled, stored, and processed (bulking, sorting, re-packing).
* Complete and manage outgoing waste paperwork.
* Support colleagues, assist other teams, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
* Follow environmental practices: save water and energy, reduce pollution, drive economically.
* Comply with COSHH and handle spills appropriately.
* Promote and follow health and safety practices; report incidents and concerns.
* Ensure visitors and contractors follow site safety rules and PPE requirements.
* Act as a First Aider when trained and perform other duties as needed.
* Contribute to company goals in line with your role and experience.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* HNC/Degree in Chemistry or related field
* Waste industry & SAP experience (desirable)
* Strong MS Office skills
* Comfortable working outdoors in a hands-on chemical environment
* Process-driven leader with clear communication skills
* Data-led decision maker
* Able to drive team performance & share knowledge effectively
