What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Principal Product Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our products. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting Technical Authority teams in managing hazards, risks, and mitigations, while contributing to the development of the hazard log.
* Conducting product safety assessments on major subsystems and complex technologies.
* Verifying the quality of submissions to the Hazard Log.
* Organizing and facilitating HAZIDs and review meetings, and contributing to additional HAZIDs as needed.
* Leading all product safety activities for your designated equipment area, including managing and mentoring junior engineers.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Strong knowledge of product safety management processes and techniques.
* Experience across multiple phases of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) framework, with a solid understanding of adjacent phases and through-life engineering issues.
* Familiarity with customer safety standards, including:
o DSA-02
o JSP430
o Def. Stan 00-56
o Mil Std 882E
o BS EN 61508

Working Conditions:
Accountability for the safety of design solutions rests with the Technical Authority. Your role will support their decision-making, ensuring risks are systematically identified and managed within the Product Safety Management framework. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of technical disciplines and have the opportunity to influence the integrity of our final products.
