Are you an experienced Structural Engineer with over 4 years of experience, ready to lead high profile residential developments?
A leading, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to join their Civil and Structural Engineering team. This role is specifically designed for a technical expert who thrives in the residential sector, managing the complex structural engineering challenges associated with large-scale housing developments and tall residential towers.
You will transition from supporting projects to taking full technical and commercial ownership, working within a consultancy that values engineering precision and personal development over all else.
As the successful Structural Engineer, you will:
* Lead the structural design and management for major housing schemes, ensuring all elements from substructures to superstructures are optimised for construction efficiency;
* Take full accountability for the structural integrity and design of various building types, including traditional masonry, timber frame, and RC frame structures;
* Produce and oversee complex structural calculations and drawings, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and Building Regulations;
* Lead the preparation of structural reports and feasibility studies to support planning applications and site assessments;
* Act as the primary technical contact for developers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery;
* Control project timelines and budgets, ensuring high quality delivery for some of the UK’s most prominent housebuilders;
* Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and quality control for junior engineers and technicians within the structural design team.
We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer with:
* 4 - 8 years of experience within a UK based structural engineering consultancy;
* A proven track record in residential structural design and a deep understanding of the housebuilding industry;
* High proficiency in industry standard software, specifically Tekla Structural Design;
* Thorough understanding of the latest Building Regulations, British Standards, and Eurocodes relevant to residential construction;
* Ideally Chartered (CEng) with the IStructE or ICE.
