Overview
Technical Services Manager. Contract: Professional Services, Production & Technology. Location: Stevenage, SG1 2DA (travel across four sites: Henlow, Bedford, London, Stevenage). Hours of work: 40. Contract Type: Permanent. Salary: Competitive, plus car allowance for travel.
The purpose of this role is to support ISS in its vision of becoming the world’s leading service organisation by delivering outstanding service performance and enabling our customers’ purpose through the empowerment of people.
Responsibilities
* Supervise facility maintenance activities, ensuring operational efficiency and high standards.
* Manage and evaluate team performance, maintaining quality standards, compliance, and effective resource allocation.
* Act as HVAP for the site, supporting HV shutdowns and asset verification.
* Assign, monitor, and close work tickets, preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, and reactive tickets, achieving 95% compliance.
* Oversee and maintain SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, statutory logbooks, and ensure EICR and other statutory testing are up to date.
* Lead a daily engineering team of approximately 15 staff, including recruitment, task assignment, meetings, and performance improvement plans.
* Monitor and manage the BMS system, daily logs, and overall site operations.
* Coordinate contractors and vendors, ensuring safety, access, compliance, and minimal risk to critical loads.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, HSEQ standards, and regulatory obligations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in building services is preferred.
* Vocational qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of Work Order Control and CMMS systems.
* Skilled in subcontractor/vendor management, KPI tracking, capacity planning, and reporting.
* Hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
* Effective communicator across digital and phone channels.
* Experienced in high-risk activities, with Safe Systems of Work training.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to analyse issues and develop effective, positive solutions.
