The Role
An excellent opportunity to join our Specialist Palliative Care Team in NHS Lanarkshire as a Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist /Team Lead.
The service provides specialist palliative care nursing for patients with complex palliative care needs, relating to both malignant and non-malignant conditions, across all care settings within Lanarkshire, operating as part of a multidisciplinary team. Whilst offering advanced clinical knowledge as a practitioner the role includes managing the Specialist Palliative Care Nursing Team.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Healthcare practitioner with valid UK Registration (NMC / HCPC)
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
3. Post graduate* expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
5. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
6. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
7. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification 9
9. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology
*this may include Independent and supplementary prescribing where relevant to the role, legal framework for the practitioner and defined service need.

It would be great if you also have
12. Communication or Counselling Skills qualification
13. Independent prescriber (V300) and clinical assessment and decision making
14. Specialist post-graduate /post registration qualification in palliative care or oncology
15. Significant comprehensive post registration experience within specialist palliative care
16. Able to demonstrate own experience of undertaking audit, QI projects and research
17. Experience of managing capability and competence
18. Experience of prioritising work and managing competing demands
19. Be able to demonstrate knowledge of national, regional and local strategies / priorities
20. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and evidence of relevant continuing professional development
21. Experience of multi-professional teaching
22. Experience of providing mentorship and clinical supervision
23. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Specialist Palliative Care within Blantyre Health Centre.
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday
