An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Registered Nurse/AHP to join the radiotherapy clinical review team at The Christie Hospital, Withington site. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, passionate, and a team player to deliver a high standard of care to patients.
The post holder will collaborate with clinical oncologists, therapeutic radiographers, nurses, and the wider MDT to provide streamlined, patient-centered care efficiently. The role includes supporting patients undergoing radiotherapy, utilizing skills such as prescribing and patient examination across various disease sites. Responsibilities also include managing treatment toxicities and other health conditions, with support from Advanced and Enhanced Clinical Practitioners and medical colleagues.
The role requires working independently to manage acute and emergency cases, providing interventions for unwell patients, and supporting and training junior staff, including clinical support workers and radiographers. Participation in clinical service improvement projects is also expected.
Interviews will be held at The Christie Withington site on Thursday, 3rd July.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and promote continuity of care, ensuring patients know who to contact for information and advice.
2. Provide care for acutely unwell patients, including those requiring admission, with support from senior/medical colleagues.
3. Understand the patient care pathway specific to each disease site.
4. Advise on symptom and toxicity management.
5. Work as an independent non-medical prescriber upon qualification.
6. Coordinate radiotherapy aspects for patients needing additional support during attendance.
7. Support patients and carers emotionally and psychologically, providing high standards of care.
8. Facilitate effective communication between multidisciplinary teams and The Christie.
9. Contribute to radiotherapy research to support evidence-based practice.
