Your new company Hays have been appointed by a leading manufacturing company to recruit a Customs & Excise Officer to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based position. Hours of work are 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Your new role Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Customs & Excise Officer will be required to monitor & record stock levels and the movement of products through the manufacturing, packaging and despatch processes in accordance with Customs & Excise Regulations. The Customs & Excise Officer will be required to supervise and record the intake & storage of incoming bulk deliveries. This will include managing the relevant Customs & Excise records, calculating the volume of products, preparing the monthly Customs & Excise returns and processing the bi-monthly duty payments. You will also be required to support with additional Warehouse & Logistics administrative tasks where necessary. What you'll need to succeed As Customs & Excise Officer, you must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above (including Maths and English). You must be competent in Microsoft Suite and have experience using Excel, be highly numerate and work with accuracy and precision. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
