Band 2 Catering Assistant

The Catering department has an exciting opportunity to work as part of the team in the kitchen that serves the Orchard Restaurant at Good Hope Hospital.
Our Catering Assistant should have a passion for ensuring customers are provided with a friendly, safe and efficient service.
The responsibilities are:
*The work involves preparation, handling and serving of foods across all areas of the Catering department and associated hospital sites. The post holder will require maintaining good food hygiene standards for patients, staff and visitors to the Trust in accordance with individual sites processes.
*Ensure codes of practice for HACCP and food safety are followed
* Cooking food for restaurant and coffee shops and served following HACCP and Food Safety guidelines
*Temperatures of cooked foods and deliveries recorded using the designated HACCP sheets
*Maintain excellent cleaning standards following cleaning schedules supplied
This is a part time post (20 hours per week)
Main duties of the job
Prepare and cook food for the restaurant and coffee shops
Ensure all food is cooked and served in compliance with HACCP and Food Safety guidelines
Communicate allergen information to staff and customers
Follow HACCP and food safety protocols.
Record temperatures of cooked, chilled, and frozen foods.
Maintain high cleaning standards using provided schedules.
Handle cleaning chemicals safely in line with COSHH regulations.
Check food dates and rotate stock appropriately.
Remove food waste correctly using designated recycling streams.

* * Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake in the induction period
* * Higher Catering Education
* * Other Education
Experience
* * Health and Safety or willingness to undertake in induction period
* * Food Hygiene Regulations or willingness to undertake in induction period
* * Willingness to undertake specific competencies to meet the full requirements of the role
* * Previous Catering Work Experience
