A welcoming school in the BS20 area of Bristol is looking for an enthusiastic Engagement and Learning Support Assistant to join their team full-time from September.
This role is perfect for someone with experience working with children, whether as a sports coach, nursery assistant, swimming teacher, or similar—who wants to bring their skills into the classroom and support pupils across the primary age range.
The Role:
* Work alongside teachers to support pupils’ engagement and learning across a range of subjects.
* Provide targeted support to individual children and small groups, helping them stay focused and make progress.
* Assist with planning and preparing engaging learning activities that inspire curiosity and confidence.
* Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and calm classroom environment.
* Support pupils’ social and emotional development, encouraging independence and positive behaviour.
* Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and colleagues to contribute to each child’s success.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Has experience working with children in roles such as a nursery assistant, sports coach, swimming instructor, or similar.
* Is passionate about supporting young learners and keen to develop a career in education.
* Patient, adaptable, and able to connect well with children and staff.
* Organised, dependable, and proactive in supporting classroom needs.
* Holds or is willing to obtain a valid DBS check prior to starting.
