Premier Engineering is working with a well-established precision engineering company based in Rochdale. They are looking to recruit a Production Team Leader to oversee a high-performance machining cell specialising in CNC Machining, Grinding, and Toolmaking. This role is ideal for an experienced hands-on leader with a strong background in precision engineering and a drive for continuous improvement.
The Production Team Leader will ideally have the following attributes:
* Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
* Strong working knowledge of CNC Machining, Surface/Cylindrical Grinding, and Toolroom practices
* Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
* Familiarity with quality systems and inspection techniques
* Experience with lean manufacturing principles and production efficiency improvements
* Excellent communication, team coordination, and leadership skills
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
The Production Team Leader role will involve:
* Managing a skilled team within a precision machining cell
* Ensuring production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met
* Supporting staff with technical guidance across CNC, grinding, and toolmaking operations
* Monitoring workflow, machine utilisation, and material availability
* Conducting team briefings, performance reviews, and training support
* Driving a culture of quality, safety, and efficiency across the cell
* Liaising with other departments including planning, engineering, and quality assurance
