Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Bestwood Village School, Bestwood Village, Nottingham NG6 8TL
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday 8.15am – 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday 8.15am – 4.00pm
Salary: £39,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role
As a Teacher, you will plan and deliver high-quality, tailored learning to meet the individual needs of students, often working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis. You will create a safe, supportive and stimulating environment that promotes academic progress, positive behaviour and personal development, while working closely with colleagues and families to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach.
Key responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and policies, tracking and reporting on student progress
* Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and personalised learning programmes
* Create an engaging classroom environment, organising resources and groupings to support effective learning
* Lead on agreed subjects or areas, coordinating teaching, assessment and reporting across key stages
* Work effectively with support staff, ensuring they are well briefed and able to provide high-quality support
* Manage and support behaviour positively, helping students develop independence and self-regulation
* Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team, maintaining clear communication with colleagues, care staff and families
* Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and all statutory and school policies are consistently followed, while maintaining accurate records and professional standards
What you will bring:
* UK QTS
* Experience working with students with autism spectrum conditions and/or those displaying challenging behaviour
* Experience within an educational setting
* Confidence in planning, delivering and teaching engaging lessons
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Accuracy and attention to detail when recording and maintaining information

Bestwood Village School is a brand-new school in Bestwood Village, Nottingham and will have capacity for 30 pupils and is due to open in September 2024.
