This opportunity would suit an experienced Production Team Leader / Supervisor with strong management & leadership skills, who is ready to take a step up into an exciting new Production Manager role.
Your new role
The Production Manager will oversee production activities, manage equipment, and ensure timely deliveries while leading the production team to meet the company's next-day delivery service. Working closely with a Production Supervisor, you will provide strong leadership to a team of production operatives and machine operators to ensure the smooth running of the production function, as well as implementing new ideas to continually improve the department. Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
2. Managing equipment maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.
3. Enforcing quality standards to meet customer specifications and adhere to ISO standards.
4. Continuously improving production processes for efficiency and cost savings by applying lean and Kaizen principles.
5. Ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
6. Leading and motivating the production team for maximum productivity.
7. Generating and submitting performance reports to the Operations Director.
8. Managing materials and inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong people management and leadership experience gained within a production environment.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Able to have difficult conversations and solve issues on the shop floor.
* Experience of using SAP or similar ERP systems.
* Ideally, you will have experience of working to ISO quality standards.
* Willingness to travel to meet with customers, where required.
