Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a EC& I Design Engineer interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located near Chester.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed EC& I designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
* Specify and select electrical equipment, control panels, instruments, and cabling systems.
* Prepare control philosophies, loop diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
* Ensure designs comply with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
* Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and HVAC teams to ensure full system integration.
* Support design reviews, hazard assessments, and commissioning preparation.
* Provide technical support during installation, testing, and handover stages.
Qualifications & Skills
* Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in EC& I design for industrial, manufacturing, or process environments.
* Strong understanding of electrical and control design standards (BS EN, IEC, IET).
* Competent with design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
