We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Catering Supervisor to join our friendly and professional catering team at the brand-new Cradley Heath Skills Campus, part of the Sandwell College Group.
This is a permanent, part-time position, working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:30 am β 2:30 pm) during term time only (36 weeks per year).
As a Catering Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the campus catering facilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and excellent customer service to staff, students and visitors. You will lead by example, supporting the catering team and maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise the daily running of the catering service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
* Support the Chef Manager in planning and preparing menus and coordinating service delivery.
* Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all catering areas, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
* Oversee stock control, ordering, and storage of supplies.
* Train, support, and motivate catering assistants to deliver excellent service.
* Provide friendly, professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
* Support College hospitality and special events as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Weβre seeking someone who can demonstrate:
* Experience supervising or leading a catering or hospitality team.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Knowledge of food hygiene, allergen management, and health and safety procedures.
* The ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities.
* A positive, hands-on approach and a commitment to high service standards.
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Catering and Hospitality.
* Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
* Experience working in an educational or similar environment.
