About the Role
We're supporting a global technology group that is embarking on a major digital transformation programme, introducing AI, automation, and data-driven innovation across its international operations.
As the Group IT Azure Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising Azure-based infrastructure that underpins business-critical systems across multiple regions. This is a hands-on, high-impact position within a collaborative and forward-thinking IT team.
You'll act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Azure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud environment, while contributing to ongoing global cloud strategy and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, expand, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure to support global operations.
* Lead and contribute to cloud transformation projects across multiple business units.
* Ensure network and data security, including access controls and compliance with internal policies.
* Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform and PowerShell.
* Collaborate with Security, Application, and Service Delivery teams to ensure optimal system performance and integration.
* Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide expert-level support.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
* Mentor junior team members and promote best practices within the IT function.
Key Skills & Experience
* 5+ years' hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
* Proven track record in designing and managing enterprise-level Azure infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of security, identity, and compliance in Azure environments.
* Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, CLI, Python).
* Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises to cloud migrations.
* Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate across teams and work in a global service delivery model
Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).
* ITIL Foundation certification (desirable).
