Customs Transit Administrator Location: Templepatrick, Northern Ireland (with travel to other sites as required) Working Hours: MondayThursday 1 pm9 pm, Friday 2 pm10 pm, with 1 weekend in 4 Salary: £26,000 £28,000 DOE The Role Join our client, a leading logistics provider with a growing Customs Department supporting UK and EU cross-border freight operations. Due to continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in customs, with full structured training and clear progression into senior and specialist roles. Working within a fast-paced Customs team, youll play a key role in managing transit movements, ensuring goods move efficiently and in full compliance with UK and EU regulations. Key Responsibilities Prepare, submit, and manage customs transit declarations Ensure correct use of transit procedures (guarantees, seals, reference numbers) Monitor movements to ensure timely arrival, discharge, and closure Track delays or discrepancies and take corrective action Liaise with drivers, hauliers, ports, and customs authorities Support internal teams to ensure smooth and compliant operations Maintain accurate records across systems such as NCTS, TSS, TRACES, and Thyme IT Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance checks Support resolution of operational issues and escalations Work collaboratively in a time-sensitive, high-accuracy environment Participate in ongoing training to develop customs expertise Requirements Essential Minimum 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grade C or above At least 1 year of experience in logistics, customs, or office administration Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Desirable Experience in customs transit or freight forwarding Knowledge of NCTS (New Computerised Transit System) Understanding of transit guarantees, seals, and closure processes Familiarity with TRACES, TSS, or similar customs systems Whats in It For You Full training and development within customs operations Career progression within a growing Customs Department Exposure to UK and EU international logistics operations Opportunity to work in a specialist compliance environment Supportive team culture with ongoing development 30 days holiday including bank holidays Octopus Electric Car Salary Sacrifice scheme 25% discount on Stena ferry travel 25% discount on coach travel 2p/3c per litre fuel discount at Circle K 10% discount at Kildare Village Cycle to Work scheme Private medical cover after 6-month probation Whats next?
