A welcoming school in the BS20 area of Bristol is looking for an enthusiastic Engagement and Learning Support Assistant to join their team full-time from September. This role is perfect for someone with experience working with children, whether as a sports coach, nursery assistant, swimming teacher, or similar—who wants to bring their skills into the classroom and support pupils across the primary age range. The Role: Work alongside teachers to support pupils’ engagement and learning across a range of subjects. Provide targeted support to individual children and small groups, helping them stay focused and make progress. Assist with planning and preparing engaging learning activities that inspire curiosity and confidence. Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and calm classroom environment. Support pupils’ social and emotional development, encouraging independence and positive behaviour. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and colleagues to contribute to each child’s success. The Ideal Candidate: Has experience working with children in roles such as a nursery assistant, sports coach, swimming instructor, or similar. Is passionate about supporting young learners and keen to develop a career in education. Patient, adaptable, and able to connect well with children and staff. Organised, dependable, and proactive in supporting classroom needs. Holds or is willing to obtain a valid DBS check prior to starting.
