Information Security Operations Manager
One of the UK's leading providers of critical infrastructure for trade requires an experienced SecOps Manager.
This role involves leading the operations activities of the Information Security team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality protections to the business. Responsibilities include administering, prioritising, monitoring, and conducting business-as-usual Computer Security, Information Security, and Cyber Security activities in line with technical and business strategies, as well as industry best practices.
The manager will assist the Information Security Lead by reviewing and improving the company's Cyber Security posture to meet compliance standards and legislation. The role also involves reporting on defence and initiative performance, driving best practices, and contributing to the development of the company's long-term Information Security strategy.
Responsibilities include:
1. Developing and supporting the Information Security team within the DevSecOps framework.
2. Assisting with the development and support of DevSecOps practices.
3. Managing relationships with security partners.
4. Participating in management and governance forums to promote cybersecurity best practices.
5. Deputising for the Information Security Lead, including handling security incidents.
6. Maintaining and testing security technologies such as antivirus, data encryption, cloud security measures, etc.
7. Improving procedures, documentation, and communication with internal teams.
8. Reporting on security status and systems.
9. Providing evidence for security audits and incident investigations.
10. Recommending tools and countermeasures.
11. Performing risk assessments and testing systems for vulnerabilities.
12. Maintaining security procedures with vendors.
13. Reviewing disaster recovery plans with technology teams.
14. Staying current with security threats and defenses.
15. Working independently or in teams to meet deadlines and budgets.
Key Skills:
* Recognized security qualifications (e.g., Microsoft certifications, CISMP, CEH).
* Experience in security operations.
* IT technical background.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to guide staff at all levels.
* Independent work ethic with a focus on results.
* Understanding of business value and objectives.
* Willingness to travel as required.
* Customer service orientation, teamwork, honesty, and ambition.
* At least 2 years of experience in an infrastructure security role.
* Knowledge of ISMS, NIS Regulations, GDPR, and ITIL.
* In-depth experience with MS cloud technologies (Intune, Defender suite, Azure, Entra).
