Job Title: Operations Manager
Reports to: Depot Manager
Depot: Doncaster Depot
Main Duties
1. Managing the day-to-day operations of the depot, leading from the front.
2. Reporting directly to the Distribution/Transport Manager & Warehouse Manager within the management team.
3. Supporting sales growth through a data-led approach by driving efficiency, shaping strategy, and identifying opportunities.
4. Maintaining a customer-first approach and motivating the team.
Additional Responsibilities
Must have sales and commercial awareness. Involves stock control and warehousing, managing daily warehouse operations, and monitoring the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of goods movement and storage.
Responsible for line management of staff within the distribution team, including warehouse and transportation staff, ensuring all depot delivery requirements are met.
Collaborate with the Office Manager to ensure smooth depot operations at all times.

* Control of distribution costs and delivering within budget.
* Providing first-class customer service.
* Implementing and adhering to warehouse/distribution procedures and processes.
* Ensuring legal compliance with all O-licence requirements.
* Stock management to ensure product availability with minimal shrinkage.
* Efficient route planning to maximize service quality.
* Recruitment, training, and appraisal of employees.
* Staff resource allocation according to operational needs.
* Maintaining health and safety standards.
* Effective stock control and replenishment processes.
* Liaising with customers to achieve high service levels.
Knowledge and Experience
* Possession of CPC and IOSH certificates is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to motivate and encourage teamwork.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Tachograph (Vision) software is advantageous.
* Flexibility to work in a 6-day operation.
