Whitehall Resources are looking for Cloud Senior Infrastructure for our customer based in Yorkshire. The company is undertaking a major cloud transformation programme, migrating from traditional data centres and VMware environments to Microsoft Azure. They are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Manager to lead this transition and manage a large, multi-skilled infrastructure function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team size is ~45 across Server, Storage, and Network disciplines with team leaders in place. Role will be to manage this team.
* Oversee the migration from VMware to Azure, ensuring performance, resilience, and security.
* Define and implement cloud infrastructure strategy, standards, and operational excellence.
* Collaborate with enterprise architecture, digital, and security teams to deliver aligned solutions.
* Manage vendor relationships and cloud service providers.
* Drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation across infrastructure services.
* Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure-related issues and projects.
Required Experience:
* 5-10 years' experience in senior infrastructure or cloud leadership within a large enterprise.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and VMware technologies.
* Proven experience managing hybrid infrastructure environments.
* Demonstrable success in leading large teams through transformation and BAU.
* Deep understanding of infrastructure operations, networking, security, and service management.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Soft Skills:
* Pragmatic leader who can blend technical depth with people leadership.
* Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving ability.
* Excellent communicator, able to simplify complex topics for senior managers.
* Strategic mindset with a hands-on appreciation of infrastructure detail.
