About the Job
As a Freelance Employability Tutor – Warehousing & Logistics, you will deliver engaging and practical training programmes to adult learners across Derby and the wider East Midlands region.
Using your industry expertise, you will support learners in developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to secure employment within warehouse, logistics, and supply chain environments. You will create an engaging learning experience that combines vocational skills development with employability training, helping learners progress towards qualifications and positive employment outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering training in warehouse operations, logistics processes, stock control, manual handling, and workplace health and safety.
* Supporting learners working towards Level 1 and Level 2 Warehouse & Storage qualifications.
* Embedding employability skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and workplace professionalism.
* Delivering engaging sessions aligned to employer expectations and current industry standards.
* Assessing learner progress and maintaining accurate learner records and documentation.
* Providing coaching, mentoring, and support to help learners build confidence and achieve their goals.
* Ensuring delivery meets quality standards, funding requirements, and learner progression targets.
* Supporting learners into employment opportunities and further career development pathways.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a strong background within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain operations, alongside a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
You will ideally have:
* Previous experience within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
* Experience delivering training, coaching, employability programmes, or adult learning provision.
* Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, workplace procedures, and health and safety requirements.
* A recognised teaching, training, or assessing qualification such as AET, PTLLS, DET, DTLLS, TAQA, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and learner engagement skills.
* The ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable experience includes:
* Delivery of AEB-funded, DWP-funded, or employability programmes.
* Previous hands-on experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations.
* Knowledge of funded learning, quality assurance processes, and Ofsted expectations.
