Location: Wytham Woods, Oxford, with occasional work at The Malthouse Salary: £32,108 - £37,338 per annum Contract: Full Time or 0.8 FTE (minimum), Permanent About Us The Oxford Green Estate (OGE) team manages Wytham Woods, one of the most widely studied woodlands in the world, alongside the University’s other green assets. We support researchers, students, and external visitors by providing high-quality facilities, including lab and welfare spaces, accommodation, and seminar rooms. About the Role
You will take ownership of building and site management, including health and safety compliance, coordinating reactive and planned maintenance, alarm testing, and liaising with contractors. You’ll also coordinate cleaning and waste contracts to ensure the site remains welcoming and safe for researchers and visitors. This role is ideal for someone who wants more than just admin. You will help make key decisions about the use of OGE spaces, support events, welcome guests, and ensure rooms and facilities are ready. With new software and systems being introduced, your IT skills will be put to good use as you help streamline processes and keep everything running efficiently. All this while enjoying the unique experience of working in the middle of beautiful Wytham Woods.
About You
6. Strong IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
7. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
8. Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including alarm testing, asbestos checks, and general site compliance.
9. Confident decision-maker, proactive, and able to work independently.
10. Full driving licence, as the role requires travel around the site.
