Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Physical Disabilities)
Location: South Birmingham (Primary School)
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1-to-1 support for a bright, determined primary pupil with physical disabilities. This isn't just about "helping"-it's about empowering a child to navigate their school day with confidence, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum and school life.
What you'll be doing:
Providing tailored 1:1 classroom support to help the pupil engage with lessons.
Assisting with mobility and personal care (training provided where necessary).
Collaborating with the SENCO, class teacher, and external therapists to implement IEPs.
Building a strong, trusting relationship that fosters both academic and emotional growth.What we're looking for:
Experience: Previous experience supporting children with Physical Disabilities or SEN is highly desirable.
Attributes: You are patient, physically active, and have a "can-do" attitude.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with parents and staff.
Commitment: As this is a long-term role, we need someone who can offer the child stability and consistency.
