We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team in a high-output industrial / FMCG environment. You will carry out both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, diagnose mechanical faults and contribute to improved reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical systems and machinery.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures with minimal supervision.
Support a reliability-based maintenance approach (RCM methodologies).
Perform precision maintenance tasks (shaft alignment, balancing, equipment setup).
Work closely with other maintenance, production and engineering teams to maximise uptime.
Maintain records of work, parts usage and system performance.
Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, operating procedures and quality standards.
About You
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in heavy industry, process, or FMCG environments.
Technical qualification in mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
Strong fault-finding and mechanical diagnostic ability.
Competent with alignment, balancing, machine setups and mechanical systems.
Safety-focused, self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
