As part of the Strategic Investment Planning team, you will contribute to the development of long-term projections for asset repair, refurbishment, and replacement âsupporting a £25bn investment ambition through to 2050. You will develop long-term investment forecasts across multiple asset classes including Civil, MEICA, and Water/Wastewater Infrastructure, using scenario modelling and uncertainty analysis. You will learn how to balance cost, carbon, and customer benefit trade-offs in investment decisions. You will deepen your understanding of how climate change impacts our asset base and the adaptation methods needed to forecast future needs. Your contribution will support the 25r Investment Strategy and sub-outcome frameworks underpinning the Long Term Strategy and the SR27 Final Business Plan. You will also gain insight into the Asset Management attributes required to manage a £120bn asset base.  From a technical and analytical perspective, you will work with advanced modelling tools and methodologies that link near-term and long-term planning, including asset management approaches and long-life replacement models. You will engage with Copperleaf optimisation and confidence grading frameworks and gain experience translating technical outputs into strategic narratives for both internal and external stakeholders.  You will collaborate cross-functionally with asset teams, costing services, analytics, and external partners such as PA Consulting and M2 to align long-term and near-term forecasts. You will lead work with other water utilities to understand trends, climate change, and key messages. Engagement with regulators will be part of your role through structured workshops and evidence sessions, while you also contribute to senior leadership discussions supporting business and delivery plan submissions.  On the career development front, you will benefit from personalized mentorship and a clear path to leadership roles within a high-performing team. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £52,671.
