Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our client's engineering team, based from their Newquay facility in Cornwall. This is a hands-on role supporting both installation and servicing of mechanical equipment across customer sites throughout the UK. You'll be involved in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial and utility equipment—typically large, containerised systems on wastewater and municipal water treatment sites. While some work will be based in the Newquay workshop, regular travel and overnight stays across the UK will be required.
No prior experience in this specific sector is necessary—full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Carry out mechanical installation, servicing, and maintenance of customer systems.
* Support commissioning and testing on-site.
* Work both independently and as part of a small, skilled team.
* Be flexible to travel across the UK to customer sites, with occasional overnight stays.
* Be based at the Newquay workshop when not on site, assisting with equipment assembly, preparation, and refurbishment.
Pay & Benefits
* Base salary equivalent to £28,464 (£16/hour) for 40 hours.
* Overtime paid at time and a quarter.
* All travel hours paid at pro-rata rate.
* Typical total earnings £32,000-£35,000+ depending on travel and overtime.

About You
* Hands-on mechanical background—e.g., maintenance, fitting, or installation.
* Confident reading engineering drawings and working safely on-site.
* CSCS card preferred.
* Full UK driving licence highly desirable.
* Additional certifications such as PASMA, IPAF, confined space, or first aid are beneficial.
* Able to work flexibly across the UK and adapt to changing site locations.
