Interim IT Category Manager Location: Birmingham
Duration: 3 months (January – March 2026)
Day Rate: £400–£450 (Inside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced IT Category Manager for an initial 3-month engagement. This role offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact by managing and strategising a defined cohort of operational IT contracts.
Role OverviewYou will take ownership of a portfolio of IT contracts (above £30k and below threshold), ensuringpliance, value for money, and strategic alignment. The successful candidate will provide clear rmendations on whether to pursue annual renewals or multi-year strategic procurements, leveraging knowledge of National Framework Agreements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review and manage operational IT contracts within scope.
2. Assess and rmend optimal procurement strategies (renewal vs. strategic sourcing).
3. Utilise fit-for-purpose frameworks to deliverpliant, cost-effective solutions.
4. Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to inform decisions and secure buy-in.
5. Report to Senior IT Category Managers and/or the Head of Category Management.
Essential Skills & Experience
6. Proven experience in IT category management within public sector or regulated environments.
7. Strong knowledge of National Framework Agreements and procurement regulations.
8. Ability to make strategic decisions balancingmercial, operational, andpliance considerations.
9. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
