Benefit from support and engagement through dedicated management and leadership Note: This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years, with the potential to become permanent, working Monday to Thursday 08:0016:00 and Friday 08:0015:00 with the option to work between 0600 and 1800 if company requires We are looking for a self-motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Port of Barrow. This is a hands-on role supporting port operations by maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of plant, equipment and infrastructure. This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical background, excellent fault-finding ability, and the right attitude to work independently in a demanding operational environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs,refurbishmentsand installations to maximise plant and equipment performance. Respond to breakdowns and emergency situations during normal working hours and on anout-of-hourscall-outbasis. Work on a wide range of equipmentincludingdock gate machinery, cranes, vehicles,hydraulicsand general infrastructure repairs Assist Engineering Maintenance Supervisors inidentifyingfuture maintenance requirements. Support deckhand cover whenrequired. Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to extract work orders, completetasksand record work history. Work alongside external contractors and key suppliers (e.g. UDS, Bay Towage). Undertake and review risk assessments tofacilitatesafe maintenance activities.
