We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Somerset, who are recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to join their growing team on a 3-month locum contract.
This is a 25-hour per week contract with an hourly rate of circa £60.00 (Umbrella).
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing caseloads and advising on litigation matters such as homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions (property access and anti-social behaviour), traveller encampments, regulatory prosecutions, and judicial review proceedings.
2. Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, legal documents, and providing case analysis.
3. Advising on education issues, particularly challenges related to SEND and EHC Assessments.
4. Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions.
5. Advising on licensing schemes and enforcement work.
6. Providing guidance and supervision to junior Litigation team members.
Requirements:
* Experience in Local Government law is required.
Working hours:
* 25 hours per week.
