Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and resources to families in need, ensuring the safety and well-being of children. This position requires a strong understanding of child welfare practices, crisis intervention techniques, and effective communication skills to foster positive relationships with families.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to families facing challenges related to child welfare and behavioral health.
* Conduct assessments to identify family needs and develop individualized service plans.
* Facilitate access to community resources, including childcare, counseling, and educational services.
* Collaborate with child protective services and other agencies to ensure the safety of children.
* Implement crisis intervention strategies to assist families in managing emergencies.
* Offer guidance on family law matters and conflict management techniques.
* Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
* Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in social work and family support.
Requirements
* Experience working with children and families in a supportive role is essential.
* Strong crisis management and intervention skills are necessary for effectively addressing family emergencies.
* Excellent conflict management abilities to navigate challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
* Familiarity with behavioral health issues affecting children and families is a plus.
